Wi-Fi equipment

The price of Wi-Fi components is falling rapidly. In future Wi-Fi access will occur everywhere and this global network will be filled with different Wi-Fi combined devices:
 
Mobile computers – according to market researches (In-Stat), 5.7% of all mobile computers in 2002 were equipped with Wi-Fi adaptors while manufacturing, in 2003 this share had grown to 35% and in 2005 to 90%– in few years Wi-Fi will have been distributed everywhere.
PDAs – HP, Toshiba and Palm have already represented PDAs with fitted Wi-Fi adaptor and announced many other devices appearance of which is expected.
Mobile phones – Imagine a mobile phone with additional opportunity to work in Wi-Fi network, receive data quickly and inexpensively, watch wide-zone content (such as stream video etc.) or a phone with an opportunity to switch within corporative network of company or at home in standard voice over IP, carefully spending your funds.  Best engineers of the world of such companies as Intel, Atheros, Broadcom, Intersil, Texas Instruments and others are trying to offer such solutions in the nearest time. Motorola has already represented mobile phone with Wi-Fi support.
Automobiles – New automobiles are already saturated with devices which need high speed data exchange and they can use for these purposes Wi-Fi. Soon you can drive to any service station (in the nearest years all of them will be equipped with hot-spots) and engineers will remotely execute diagnostics of your car (you may even do not go out of the car and do not switch off the engine), at your request you will be loaded new MP3’s data, your database of your navigation system will be renewed, and you also will  be loaded a new number of Wall Street Journal or Kommersant in audio format for its listening on the way to the office. When you will get your car to the parking, it will connect with your home Wi-Fi network and renew data about itself for your dealer or insurance company.
Play stations – Play stations will be united with private and public Wi-Fi networks and will become a platform for games with a big number of users.
Consumer devices – Today super cheap Wi-Fi components with extremely low energy supply have appeared. This is the base for mass equipping of all modern consumer devices with Wi-Fi components. Consumer devices will be able to send and receive information (for example, MP3 players will be able to load new music or digital video cameras will be able to send the reporting shooted by you in the nearest hot-spot).
